'DAY OF THE DEAD' MUSEUM
The project goal was to develop a design for a small museum/exhibition space devoted to the Tucson All Souls Procession. With special attention to bodily and intellectual experiences. In approaching this project I first began by understanding the significance of this celebration. On the surface it appears as an eerie celebration for the dead. But with deep introspection there was a beauty I found within. To bring to life loved ones who have come and gone from this world for one night. Which led me to think from the souls perspective. The museum captures the experience of the soul, as one moves through the exhibition. Through compression, expansion, and natural light these spatial qualities are achieved.
